This statue commemorates the Reinheitsgebot. Established in 1487, this law ensures the purity of all the beer produced in Germany. Also pictured are the "Big Six" breweries of Bavaria.

Trying to take a selfie from the summit of Zugspitze in the driving wind isn't exactly easy.

2950m... Germany's highest mountain is just 50m short of 3000m. Something the Swiss never forget to remind the Germans of.

That's the actual summit of Zugspitze. I attempted to get up there and quickly realized climbing up a Via Ferrata in the driving wind isn't something I was especially keen on.

Schloss Linderhof... It is the smallest of the three palaces built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one which he lived to see completed.

Our one and only night in Zürich

Our first day in beautiful Luzern. Unfortunately our time here was dominated by a heavy fog so we never got to see how beautiful its surroundings are.

Someone doesn't like her Spätzle.

I felt like a creeper trying to covertly take this photo, but just look at that dog sitting at the table with his baby bottle.

Luzern's Kapellbrücke... an awesome covered bridge crossing the Reuss river.

Walking across the Kapellbrücke you're greeted by a number of triangular interior paintings dating back to the 17th century.

The impressive Löwendenkmal (Lion of Luzern). It commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris.

I don't know but I found this sculpture, right in the side of this cliff quite moving. The look of the slayed lion and his last gasp of courage.

959 miles in 2 weeks. We make sure to take full advantage of our time with the new BMW.
