An so begins our tour of the Perugina Chocolate factory in San Sisto, Perugia... we were like kids in a candystore, literally.

This is the "Chocolate School" as stated by the sign on the wall. Unfortunately they didn't have classes running while we were there. It definitely would've been worth the 300 euro.

The guide told us that the original name for the Baci (which means "kisses") was "Pugno" which means "fist" because of the shape of the chocolate. Obviously the name didn't last long.

Obviously there are only benefits to eating chocolate, no downsides whatsoever.

These are Etruscan catacombs carved in the 'tofo' volcanic rock that Orvieto is built upon over 2000 years ago.

These wheels are old olive presses.

The labyrinth underground is like a whole other city. The cellars of most of the homes above are connected to these tunnels, the vast majority of which are for private use only.

These holes in the wall make enticing homes for pigeons who nest here only to meet their end at the hands of hungry villagers.

The Duomo di Orvieto was quite a site to behold. It was an overpowering presence in a town so small. Beautifully ornate and immaculately maintained.

Our room at Agriturismo San Felicissimo in the outskirts of Perugia was up a winding mountain pass in the olive groves. The view out of our window was a breathtaking panorama.
